Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Matt Logsdonā€™s work is deeply influenced by his personal experiences growing up in the American Midwest, being a Boy Scout, bodybuilding, idolizing the stars of the WWF, and playing with G.I. Joes in a pile of dirt. He engages the hypocrisy within these institutions, at times embracing and rejecting them, revealing an ongoing and unresolved ambivalence about the systems that have shaped him. The gendered body, natural and built environments, and notions of work, sacrifice, and duty are focal themes of his work. His practice includes, drawing, sculpture, performance and installation. Matt Logsdon lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
